Shawna Shaw - P.T.A.

Shawna Shaw is a Physical Therapist Assistant currently working at Progressive Rehabilitation & Work Injury Center. She graduated from Mt. Hood Community College in 1996 with an Association Degree in Science. She also attended Southern Oregon University and graduated in 1994 with a Bachelor Degree, majoring in Athletic Training and Sports Medicine.

Shawna enjoys working with a diverse patient population with a wide range of conditions including spinal degeneration, post surgical conditions, and total joint replacements and sports injuries.  Her main goal for successful patient rehabilitation includes patient education, home exercise independence and return to normal functional and vocational activities.  Shawna has attended several continuing education courses focusing on orthopedic rehabilitation.

Shawna has recently taken over the role of training the physical therapy aides. This training course consists of 40 hours on the job training as well as 10 hours of actual class teaching. She is responsible for documenting class hours and job training for each new therapy aide.

Shawna and her son Garrett enjoy being outdoors and camping. Shawna also enjoys playing recreational softball and rafting with friends and family. She would like  to eventually work towards her Athletic Training Certification and possibly a degree in education.
